In a special bulletin dated 14 August, the Fiji Meteorological Service (FMS) issued a heavy rainfall warning for the archipelagos of Yasawa, Lomaiviti and Mamanuca, Nadi-Lautoka-Ba and Rakiraki as well as for the island of Kadavu and the smaller neighbouring islands from late August 15.
Poor travel conditions should be anticipated (wet roads, reduced visibility). Flooding, road closures and power cuts are also not to be ruled out.
3 Recommandations
•It is advisable to remain vigilant if travelling and to keep up to date with developments on the Fiji Meteorological Service website.
