County of San Diego: forest fire in the Lakeside area - Evacuation order in progress

A fire, dubbed the Monte Fire, has broken out in the Lakeside area north of El Monte Road in San Diego County. The fire has already consumed around 340 acres and is only 10% contained.

Firefighters are still mobilised. Although fire activity has slowed and progress is now moderate, operations remain complex.

Due to the danger, authorities have issued several mandatory evacuation orders in the following areas: SDC-1467, SDC-1515, SDC-1516 and SDC-1551. These areas face an immediate threat to the lives of residents, who must leave the premises without delay.

Preventative evacuation alerts are also in place for areas SDC-1470, SDC-1517, SDC-1469 and SDC-1468. Affected residents are strongly advised to leave now.
