Lima: grenade explosion near the Mall del Sur in San Juan de Miraflores - Avoid the area

According to local sources, a grenade explosion occurred on the evening of 15 January near the shopping centre Mall del Sur, in the San Juan de Miraflores district of Lima. The incident, which occurred at around 10.30pm in an adjacent car park, left at least nine people injured, according to local authorities.

The motives behind the attack remain unknown for the time being.

Security reinforcements have been carried out in the area.
